How WiT Money researches, compares and presents UK financial products, including the information we use, how results may be ordered and how commercial relationships are handled.
Researched by WiT Money · UK-focused · Methodology last reviewed 17 September 2026
We use a consistent process to research, structure, verify and present product information so users can compare relevant features more easily.
We gather product information from providers and other appropriate primary sources.
We organise relevant rates, fees, eligibility requirements, limits and product features into consistent fields and terminology.
Important factual information is checked against provider information or other appropriate primary sources before publication.
Products are displayed using the methodology relevant to that comparison. Where a featured placement is used, it is clearly identified.
Financial products change. We review comparison data and update, qualify or remove information when appropriate.
We compare products using information published by providers and other appropriate primary sources. The information considered varies by product type and may include interest rates, Representative APR or APRC, fees, eligibility requirements, borrowing or investment limits, access conditions, product features and other relevant terms.
Not every product is assessed using the same criteria. The fields shown are selected according to what is relevant to that type of financial product.
Expand a product family to see the fields we may surface and the limitations that apply to that comparison type.
Depending on the comparison, we may surface Representative APR, loan amount ranges, available terms, repayment information, fees, eligibility criteria, soft-search availability and relevant product features.
Representative APR is not necessarily the rate an individual applicant will receive. Eligibility checks or soft-search results do not guarantee acceptance.
Comparisons may include Representative APR, borrowing amounts, repayment terms, illustrative monthly and total repayable figures, fees and eligibility features where published.
In addition to core loan fields, we may surface funding speed and repayment information where available. Consolidation does not always reduce total cost — longer terms can increase overall interest.
We may surface whether features such as CCJs, defaults, self-employed applicants or guarantors may be considered, alongside Representative APR, amounts, terms and fees. Specialist pricing can be higher than mainstream personal loans.
We may compare initial interest rates, Representative APRC, product fees, maximum loan-to-value (LTV), initial deal periods, rate type, incentives, portability, early repayment charges and other relevant product features or eligibility criteria.
Mortgage costs depend on individual circumstances and the property and loan involved. Any repayment examples are illustrative and are not a mortgage offer or personalised recommendation.
Where available, mortgage comparisons may include fixed or tracker structures, cashback or incentives, product fees, overpayment options, portability and early repayment charges alongside rate and LTV information.
The default order depends on the comparison. Some pages allow users to reorder products by an objective field such as APR, AER, initial rate or another published metric.
Where a comparison offers “WiT Money order”, that order typically reflects editorial curation, workbook or database order, a fixed product list, or completeness of structured comparison information for that page — not a single disclosed multi-factor score of “best overall.” Factors used for a given comparison should be consistent with that page’s implementation.
Provider A–Z is alphabetical by provider name.
Best Match, where offered, is a suitability match against verified factual fields based on answers the user selects. Commercial arrangements do not determine Best Match results.
If a Featured placement is used, that placement is labelled as editorial discovery — not a quality ranking, recommendation, or paid placement. Editorial Top Pick is not used at launch. Users should compare the underlying rates, fees, eligibility and product terms rather than treating placement alone as a recommendation.
We do not describe a product as “best” unless the basis for that assessment is defined and supportable.
Not every comparison offers the same sorting options. Available sorts depend on the product category and the comparable fields published for that page.
WiT Money does not necessarily compare every product or provider available in the UK. The products shown depend on the scope of each comparison, the information we can verify and the providers or products included in our current coverage.
Where a comparison has a material coverage limitation, we aim to explain that on the relevant page.
WiT Money may receive a commission or referral fee from some providers if you proceed through a link. Inclusion of a provider or product does not constitute a recommendation or endorsement.
Featured placements, where used, are labelled as editorial discovery. They are not commercial rankings, quality rankings, or personal recommendations. Editorial Top Pick is not used at launch.
Commercial fields are stored separately from verified factual product fields. Placement and labelling do not alter the factual rates, fees or product terms we publish. Best Match, where used, is based on user-selected criteria and those verified fields.
We prioritise primary sources when researching factual product information.
Provider and lender websites, product pages, terms, fee schedules and eligibility information.
Government guidance, regulatory or scheme documentation where relevant to the product or topic.
Other appropriate authoritative sources for the topic when needed to explain context or rules.
Where information cannot be verified to an appropriate standard, we may omit it, qualify it or remove the affected product from a comparison until it can be checked.
Financial products, rates, fees and eligibility criteria can change. We review comparison information on a scheduled basis and when we become aware of a material change.
Where available, comparison pages display when product information was last checked.
Users should confirm current rates, terms, eligibility requirements and product documentation directly with the provider before applying, opening an account or investing.
